About Us

In early 2004 a Minnesota taxidermist solicited the financial support of Fred Roguske, an avid sport fisherman, to develop a new line of fish replica molds using Hollywood technology and space age materials. The quality improvements of the end product were dramatic and they soon became one of the leading suppliers of Fish Replicas to the taxidermy industry. In 2008 the PERMA TROPHY franchise was acquired from Hawkins Taxidermy of Winnipeg Canada which greatly increased our line of products and immediately required us to enter the world of painting fish.

Being a seasoned businessman, Roguske hired proven taxidermy artists and contracted with Rick Krane, “Several Times World Fish Taxidermy Champion” as well as a good customer, to train them. Since that time the company has grown to become the largest freshwater Fish Replica manufacturer in North America and for that matter, the world. In recent years we have begun to acquire lines of saltwater species and rework them into our form with the goal of becoming number one for all fish reproductions. In fact, with the recent purchase of all of Lyons & O’Havor’s West Coast Saltwater molds combined with our unmatched line of Alaska Fish Replicas, we now have the most complete offering of Pacific Coast Fish Reproductions in the world.

Our workers and artists at PermaTrophy are ready to provide you with that lasting memory of your fishing adventure. Give us a call or email us for a free quote on artistic ideas and plans for creating and displaying the Fish Mount of your lifetime. Be sure to view your desired species on our Home page to appreciate how we can capture those precious memories for you.

There are many reasons why a good Fish Reproduction is far superior to mounting the actual fish.

  1. For starters by releasing the fish, it can become somebody else’s trophy down the road while in the meantime continuing to reproduce and maintain the sport fishery. That way the memories of our generation may be experienced by our sons and daughters and our grand children. OR if your trophy happens to be cherished for its cuisine such as a salmon or halibut, then you can so to speak eat it and have it too.
  2. Since the skin of the real fish must be dried and then stretched over a foam manikin, all of the muscle tone and much of the real shape of the fish is lost. It just doesn’t look as real.
  3. Most coldwater fish and virtually all saltwater fish have oil in their heads and skin which gradually blead out causing unsightly problems down the road.
  4. The heads of many sport fish such as musky, northern pike, and most bass are comprised of a considerable amount of cartilage which over time shrinks causing smaller heads and a funny looking fish.
  5. Even a well done skin mounted fish has a definite limited life while good replicas are more durable and will last virtually forever.

As the world’s number one manufacturer of Freshwater Fish Reproductions the PERMA TROPHY staff are ready to apply their expertise and creativity to provide you with that perfect Fish Mount. Click on the species of your choice to view a taste of our work.
